AXPC Statement on American Energy Independence

WASHINGTON – AXPC CEO Anne Bradbury released the following statement after a meeting with President Trump today that included CEOs of U.S. independent producers of oil and natural gas:

“U.S. independent producers are thankful for what President Trump and his Administration are doing to support our industry. As we are grappling with depressed demand and an oversupply that is squeezing U.S. independent producers, we must remember that this is about something much bigger than just our industry.

“The combination of U.S. independents’ perseverance and the regulatory environment fostered by the Trump Administration has achieved something once thought impossible – American energy independence.

“If we lose our energy independence, we will have to rely on oil from the Middle East and natural gas from Russia, which hurts our ability to negotiate and will significantly drive up energy costs, forcing manufacturers and small businesses to close – further hurting jobs and our economy.”
